I guess Dee's got a whole new set of "Aqualungs" now... You go, girl!
Sex change reported for Jethro Tull keyboardist
Oh the unforeseen irony:
On Jethro Tull's 1978 live album, Ian Anderson introduces the band members before launching into a song; when he gets to keyboard player (formerly) David Palmer, Anderson says, "David's gone for a piss ..." When the tune's over, Anderson notes Palmer's return to the stage: "Oh David's back. Did you give it a good shake?"
Owners of the vinyl will have this ironic audio memento, but not the CD crowd. It and other stage chatter were edited out for time reasons when the single-disc CD was produced.
I saw JT in '77, three years before Palmer left the group. A bearded English gent who smoked a pipe. I can't imagine how Dee would look now, but no matter. She's stepping to her different drummer.
