Anders Zorn (1860-1920) has been called Sweden's most internationally-admired artist. A 19th century Impressionist, Zorn worked in numerous visual media - oils, watercolors, etchings, pencil drawings and sculptures - and experimented with different techniques. His oeuvre includes society paintings and commissioned portraits in formal settings, as well as naturalistic paintings of rural life and peasants in native Swedish costumes. His subjects were varied but a few central themes recur. One is the still beauty of the Swedish landscape, particularly in spring and summer, a theme often expressed in vibrant paintings of swimmers and revelers exploring magical forests and streams. Another is the spectacle of sophisticated high society life in Stockholm, from fanciful galas and balls, to stern portraits of Swedish nobility and luscious images of their beautiful, pampered wives. Zorn is also known for his affinity for nudes. Since the Friday art shows are also known to have an affinity for nudes, it seemed only fitting to devote this erotic art show to the nudes of Anders Zorn. Prepare your eyes for a feast of female flesh.

I also recommend the Zorn Collections, the official site for the Swedish museum which houses many of his works.

Finally, while browsing around, I found these stamps from (of all places) Somalia. I think they are pretty fantastic.
