Obviously, SM is on my mind most of the time. Maybe even too much of the time. Because sometimes when I read stories like this, my first thought is, "Thank God she didn't have bondage gear and SM porn in her house."

Can you imagine if this woman was a sadomasochist? The Concerned Women of America and the Catholic League would be scribbling press releases about all SMers' depravity and calling TV news shows frenziedly, screaming that kinky people are unfit parents and dangerous drug addicts and worse. They'd be calling for more laws against us and more police actions against us.

But no, it's just your run-of-the-mill vanilla hooker who did this. Ho-hum. Neither the CWA or the CL have issued statements. No big wing-nut brownie points to be made here. No handcuffs, no queers....no problem!

I've often wondered if it would be an interesting social project to create a kind of kink think tank a la the above groups. The kinky version would judge all vanilla people by the ones who commit immoral acts. Following the formulae so cynically employed in the CWA and the CL's own political propaganda, it would earnestly point out that engaging in missionary position fucking obviously can turn vanillas into sociopaths....
