The Leather Leadership Conference is coming up this week, starting Friday, and I will be away (and possibly off-line) from Friday to Sunday. If I can, I will try to do a little live-blogging from the event but the closer the event draws, the less free time I'm seeing in my packed schedule.
I've got a bunch to do to prepare for my keynote address on Friday evening and the two classes I'll be teaching on Saturday. Not to mention all the time I'll need to spend in my closet staring mournfully at leather clothes that don't fit me anymore until I finally pick out Just The Right Outfits. Yeah, it'll probably end up being jeans and a t-shirt. We'll see.
In anticipation of that sartorial angst (not to mention a wicked workload this week), I probably won't be blogging a whole lot until the festivities are done -- just a couple of items a day instead of my usual 3-5.
IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND and want to speak to me privately at LLC, the time to let me know is NOW. A couple of you lovely last-minute attendes have emailed (waving at Nirvana and Lisa V.). THANK YOU. I will make time for anyone who lets me know in advance, and linger after classes on Saturday for you if need be. Otherwise -- seriously and very sorry --I'm out of there as soon as I'm done.
On the other hand, if you just want to say hi, or have me sign a book (you'll need to bring your copies), catch me at the mixer planned for Friday (before my keynote) or just after the speech. If I have the energy, I'll check out the play party at 1763 late on Friday, so you may see me there as well.
I will publish my keynote on the blog so those of you who can't attend can at least read what I said. That'll be next week (can't give it all away before I deliver it in person). I'm about 2/3s of the way through it now and unbelievably psyched about doing this. Wish me well: I've never given a keynote before! And while I'm usually a bundle of nerves about public speaking, I'm really looking forward to it this time. The leather spirit is great within me right now! Yeah!
