Making lots of calls today to friends and family all along the east cost, and hearing lots of tales of woe, though very happily, all of them of the non-tragic variety. Lots of property damage, but so far, everyone I was able to talk to has reported making it through the storm safe and sound. One friend reports he currently has a house full of ecstatic kids who think he's a hero for buying a small generator before the storm and figuring out how to hook it up to their gamebox -- making them the most popular kids in the otherwise powerless neighborhood.
